Try these simple tips to help you manage and reduce stress:
1. Exercise regularly because it helps relax your mind and body, at a minimum you should exercise 3 times a week for 30 minutes at a time.
2. Relax because stress causes tension so make sure to stretch, enjoy a massage, or take a hot shower and make sure to get enough sleep.
3. Take a few deep breaths to quickly release some of your stress. Taking 5-10 deep breaths can make you feel better.
4. Eat well balanced meals and don’t skip meals. Make sure your meals are full of fruits and vegetables.
5. Avoid being late as this is a huge stressor in our busy lives. To avoid lateness set your clocks about 5 minutes ahead to arrive on time.
6. Allow yourself some downtime to do what you enjoy like going to yoga or meditating.
7. Allow time for hobbies. Give yourself time to do what you enjoy.
8. Talk about your problems. This may see trivial but talking about what’s bothering you will help alleviate stress.
9. Go easy on yourself. We pack so much into our day and think we can do it all but the reality is we can’t do everything so give yourself a break and remember a sense of humor and laughing goes a long way!
10. Eliminate your triggers by figuring out what causes you the most stress and avoid doing those things if possible.
