Here are some tips to try if you are looking to get rid of a few more pounds.
1. Fill your plate with foods that are high in fiber. Fiber rich foods include apples, raspberries, blackberries, pears, beans, lentils, split peas, artichokes, broccoli, brussels sprouts, cabbage, avocados, nuts seeds, and 100% whole grains.
2. Focus on eating foods in their whole form. Try to avoid packaged foods, yes they are convenient but are often highly processed.
3. Power up on protein throughout the day. Great high protein foods are cottage cheese, greek yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, tuna and chicken salad are all great choices to include in meals and snacks throughout the day.
4. Drinking water is super important. You should be drinking half your body weight in fluid ounces plus 30 additional ounces for every hour you workout. Drinking water can also help you stay full. An easy reminder to drink water is to carry a water bottle with you.
5. This one is tricky but eliminating empty calories is a way to help if you are stuck in a rut. If you are really trying to lose some extra pounds count up how many cocktails you drink, avoid the late night desserts, the office candy jar and those afternoon specialty coffee drinks. Sure everything in moderation is ok, but if you are serious about trying to get rid of those pounds this one is a must do.
